AD/HD Assessments
More than two million children have been diagnosed with some form of attention problem. Two-thirds of these children will still experience the symptoms as adults. Undiagnosed and untreated
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD)
can cause academic and relationship difficulties, and work-related problems. That is why Fletcher & Associates excels at providing AD/HD assessments that are different from the rest.
The Quotient/ADHD™ System Technology
Fletcher & Associates uses the same Quotient/ADHD™ System as Edward Hallowell, M.D. of Harvard Medical School, author of Driven to Distraction. More on the Quotient/ADHD™ System at www.biobdx.com and by clicking here.
AD/HD assessments at Fletcher & Associates are in demand because they provide comprehensive assessments that incorporate the Quotient/ADHD™ System, the first objective (unbiased) measurement for AD/HD. Developed by physicians at Harvard, this technology has been directly correlated to brain function and objectively measures the ability to sit still and pay attention. It provides precise, reliable and reproducible information on symptom severity under controlled conditions. Because misdiagnosing and over-medicating are huge concerns today, assessments using the Quotient/ADHD™ System are an efficient way to enhance and refine the diagnosis.
Experts in Private Assessments
For children, adolescents, and adults, Dr. Fletcher is the expert at providing private assessments for AD/HD. Whether asked to do an initial assessment for AD/HD or to confirm a previous diagnosis, Fletcher & Associates provides a comprehensive assessment that provides peace of mind about the assessment process and the plan for treatment. In addition to the Quotient/ADHD™ System, AD/HD assessments also include a clinical interview, extensive review of history, behavior checklists, observation, and careful review of previous reports and records. Results are provided quickly with a comprehensive report that includes individualized recommendations. The patient's confidentiality is protected throughout the process.
Board-Certified in Psychopharmacology
The fact that Fletcher & Associates provides cutting edge technology in the assessment process is not the only reason they are favored by referring physicians, other psychologists, and school administrators. They also appreciate that Dr. Fletcher is one of only a few psychologists Board Certified in Psychopharmacology. With this expertise, she is able to assist in monitoring medication and consult with prescribing physicians. Because Dr. Fletcher does not prescribe medication herself, many of their patients appreciate their ability to take the time to present all of the options available for treatment.

Learning Disabilities
Learning Disabilities can go undetected for some time. The symptoms are similar to other difficulties such as attention problems, depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Learning Disabilities are found in children of normal intelligence who have difficulties in learning specific skills. Learning Disabilities can be in one area or they can be a group of disorders that affect a broad range of academic and functional skills including the ability to speak, listen, read, write, spell, reason and organize information.
A learning disability should be suspected if a child displays any of the following:
Poor academic progress
Low academic motivation
Poor attitude toward school
Poor attitude toward teachers
Learning Disabilities are different than an Attention Deficit Disorder. Dr. Fletcher refers exclusively to Diagnostic Learning Services for all referrals for Learning Disabilities and Dyslexia. Laurie Gaines, Director of Diagnostic Learning Services, has extensive experience in the public and private schools assessing students and making recommendations for special services and accommodations. Because AD/HD and Learning Disabilities can coexists, Dr. Fletcher and Laurie Gaines work together to provide the most comprehensive evaluation to help determine what is needed to help a student succeed. Laurie Gaines is also available to consult on behalf of students with parents in school-based meetings to review the assessment and develop an individualized education plan in school.
